Hey guys, I’ve recently finished reading a book by Mitch Albom titled The Stranger in The Lifeboat. This is the sixth book that I’ve read from this author. All of his books are just amazing and have many life lessons. The books that I have read are:
- Tuesday with Morrie
- The Time Keeper
- The Five People You Meet in Heaven
- For one More day
- Finding Chika
- The Stranger in The Lifeboat
Of all the sixth book that I’ve read, my favourite book would be For One More Day because it relates so much to me. Tuesday with Morrie and The Five people you meet in Heaven have so many life lessons! The Time Keeper are my least favourite. I find that Finding Chika is the most saddest because it is a real story about the author and Chika, his adopted daughter. Tell me in the comment section what are your favourite book from this author!
However, since The Stranger in the Lifeboat is the most recent one that I’ve read, I’ll do a review on this book. Well, not really a review, I don’t even know what a book review is but I’ll just share my 2 cents about this book.

This is how the book looks like. There’s a funny story about the book. The book was in my bag and one of my friend treat me a Rubicon Mango juice because it was a very hot day. I drank one third of the drink and kept the bottle in my bag. Unfortunately my bag does not have a bottle compartment, so I place the bottle in the main area with the book. The water actually leaks from the bottle cap and the book was drenched! I’m surprised the book still looks decent in the picture but the cover is definitely sticky!
Now for the review, I think the book is about a person who has lost his faith in god but find his way back to Him. The main character was Benjamin, or Benji for short. It was initially confusing because I don’t know who he was writing the letter to while he was stranded on the boat but it became clear at the end of the story. It also teaches me that no matter how famous or how rich you are, non of those will be carried to the grave. I also like the plot twist at the end because I’m not sure whether he was telling the truth or his cousin, Dobby was the one telling the truth. I hope I didn’t spoil the story! So these are my 2 cents from the novel. These are just my personal opinion of the book but overall it was a good book! I enjoyed reading it.

For the next part, I’m going to share some quote that I got from the book! I’m not 100% sure how to actually cite the quote but if the author, Mitch Albom would like me to remove all this quote do send me an email and I’ll remove them straight away!
“The distance between death and life is not as great as you imagine”
The stranger in the lifeboat – Mitch Albom
“Maybe laughter after someone dies is the way we tell ourselves that they are still alive in some way. Or that we are”

“I often felt she stared at things but saw something else. Broken people do that.”

“When someone passes, Benjamin, people always ask, ‘Why did God take them? A better question would be ‘Why did God give them to us?’ What did we do to deserve their love, their joy the sweet moments we shared?”
The stranger in the lifeboat – Mitch Albom
“But the human form is not permanent. It was never meant to be. That gift belong to the soul”
The stranger in the lifeboat – Mitch Albom
“Despair has its own voice. It is a prayer unlike any other.”
